How do you feel about France and French people? I’m very proud of my country, it’s very diversified: every region has its own identity concerning landscapes, architecture, and food. I travelled a lot and although I live in Paris, I am still amazed by the beauty of my city. French people are individualistic and I’m fine with it. What does Parisian Flair mean to you? A certain idea of “chic”… avoiding the ” too much “. What is romanticism? It’s a way of contemplating the beauty around you. Your dream?  Sleeping at the Park Hyatt in Tokyo, like in the movie ” Lost in translation “. The best gift you ever made and Received? Ever made: two plane tickets for New York. Ever received: my Hasselblad camera with which I make all my photos.

Your favorite French wine ? A Sauternes. Your favorite meal in France? Hmmm it’s a japanese restaurant of kaiseki food very creative in Paris: guiloguilo. The meal can have more than 14 courses. Favorite French desert? A home made tarte aux quetsches/ plum pie. Do you have a secret French recipe?  The soupe de fraises / strawberry soup. Very easy recipe : put strawberries in a pan with vanilla sugar and stir with a spoon for 15 minutes..it’s done, just add few fresh mint leaves and let it sit 15 minutes in the fridge. Favorite French movie? César et Rosalie with Romy Schneider, Yves Montand et Sami Frey…. about Love and friendship.

Favorite French actor? Romain Duris. Which French contemporary artist? RERO, a street art artist who works with words. Why? I like the fact that he plays with the graphism and the meanings of words. Here is a photo I made in 2012 of one of his installations in Saint-Rémy de Provence.

The French art piece that resonates the most with you? A quote by RERO: ” Art is great to waste time before dying… ” Favorite French museum/ French Art gallery? The Fondation Maeght for the sculptures of Giacometti and the architecture of the museum, just at the entrance of the beautiful French village of Saint Paul de Vence. Where do you get your inspiration as a photographer?  In architecture and in my travels. What is your favorite place in France? Paris

Matisse fell in love with the light of this city. Your perfume? Shalimar de Guerlain. What is the quintessential French look to youA little black dress.. The French book that most moved you? Le petit prince by Saint Exupéry. A philosophical book on life. I loved the planet of the lamplighter / l’allumeur de réverbères.”Since it’s beautiful, it’s truly useful”/ “C’est véritablement utile puisque c’est joli”. Your favorite French word?
